General Info
XtremeEPP ™ 1949 Heat Stabilized POK Polyketone is characterized by a carbon - carbon backbone consisting of carbon monoxide and alpha-olefins. This perfectly alternating structure offers a unique combination of performance properties that include excellent chemical resistance, good impact strength over a wide temperature range, hydrolytic stability and good friction and wear characteristics, good barrier properties, along with other advantages.
Continuous Use Temp up to 300F - With the heat stabilized XtremeEPP ™ 1949 Polyketone grade the continuous use temperature increased by over 50 F above the virgin grade to 300 F, in applications were the loads are minimal (<1KPSI) intermittent excursions up to 350 F has proven acceptable.
With its unique blend of properties and added heat resistance it can replace PEEK in applications up to 300F where the loads and pressures do not need the strength of PEEK.
It is also a great candidate to replace Acetal, Nylon and Polyester where the application requires a tougher material with better overall chemical resistance and higher impact strength.
Common applications include valve seats, seals, rollers, wheels, bushing and bearings.
