General Info
Vespel ® SP-21 has 15% graphite by weight added to the base resin for increased wear resistance and reduced friction. SP-21 has the highest mechanical properties of the graphite-filled grades, making it ideal for valve seats, seal rings, bearings, thrust washers, and dynamic seals in demanding applications wihout lubrication.
DuPont™ Vespel® SP-21 is offered in isostatically molded billet and unidirectionally pressed slab forms, specified as Type II, Class 1M and Type II, Class 1P, respectively, in accordance with ASTM 6456-10 / MIL-R-46198. Additionally, Vespel® SP-21 is designated as Class 2 per AMS 3644G.
