General Info
GEHR HDPE™ Plastic Rod is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic made from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which belongs to the polyethylene and polyolefin family. Classified as a standard plastic, HDPE is known for its outstanding chemical resistance, low density, and excellent impact strength, making it a top choice for a variety of structural and fluid-handling applications.
Manufactured by GEHR and offered by Boedeker, GEHR HDPE™ Natural Rod is compliant with ASTM D4976, ensuring consistent quality and performance. This material offers very low moisture absorption, making it ideal for humid or wet environments, including food processing, chemical washdown systems, and outdoor applications (if UV-stabilized).
With a continuous operating temperature range of approximately -58°F to +194°F (-50°C to +90°C), it delivers reliable mechanical and thermal performance in cold and moderate heat environments.
The natural (unpigmented) form is FDA-compliant for direct food contact, and its easy machinability and weldability make it suitable for custom-fabricated parts, liners, and industrial wear components. GEHR HDPE™ is widely used in cutting boards, machined spacers, tank linings, and chemical-resistant guides.

If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.
