SUSTAMID 66 GF 30 is a Nylon (Polyamide) Type 6/6 that is reinforced with 30% glass fibers and offers strength and stiffness primarily for structural applications.

- Improved Strength & Stiffness vs. Unfilled Type 6/6 Nylon
- Continuous use temperature of 220°F
- Very easy to fabricate
- Outstanding chemical resistance to alkalies and oxidizing agents
- High strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures
- Light weight (approx. 1/8 vs. bronze)
- Good impact strength at low temperature
Limitations
- High Moisture Absorption
- Limited Resistance to Strong Acids & Alkalies Note - Nylons can absorb up to 7% (by weight) water under high humidity or submerged in water. This can result in dimensional changes up to 2% and a corresponding reduction of physical properties. Proper design techniques can frequently compensate for this factor.
