General Info

Compared with other TECASINT® polyimide grades, the TECASINT® 4100 series exhibits exceptionally high thermal stability, extremely low moisture absorption, and high mechanical rigidity. These properties are complemented by outstanding oxidative stability and enhanced chemical resistance. TECASINT® 4111 natural offers very high thermal stability with an HDT/A of 470 °C. Its rigidity and modulus are significantly higher than those of conventional polyimides across a temperature range up to 400 °C. This polyimide material also provides excellent thermal and electrical insulation and features high purity with low outgassing in accordance with ESA regulation ECSS-Q-70-02.

TECASINT® 4111 natural is produced under stringent contamination controls suitable for semiconductor applications, ensuring consistent material quality and copy-exact performance. This high level of process control supports demanding cleanliness requirements and repeatable performance for critical applications. As a result, TECASINT® 4111 natural is widely used in IC test sockets and electronic fixtures where exceptional dimensional stability and precision micro-machining of tight tolerances are required.

The material achieves a high level of stiffness, with flexural modulus values up to 6,100 MPa and elongation as low as 1.7 percent, without the use of reinforcing fillers. This combination enables excellent bending resistance, minimal burr formation, and superior machining accuracy.

With the lowest water absorption among comparable polyimide grades and a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion relative to industry-standard test socket materials, TECASINT® 4111 natural maintains outstanding dimensional stability both during machining and after prolonged service. It is also commonly used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment components, including plasma etching vacuum chambers, due to its very low outgassing, excellent plasma resistance, and high temperature capability.

Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion by Service Temperature Range
Temperature RangeCLTE

572 to 752°F3.6 to 5.5 x 10^-5 in/in·°F

Compliance: TECASINT® 4111 natural complies with the requirements of the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Additional conformity declarations can be provided upon request.

Boedeker Plastics, Inc. stocks & supplies plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and custom profiles and machine parts from these shapes that are produced from plastic resin. In many cases the manufacturer of the shape has their own product trade name. If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.
