General Info

Sultron™ PSU Polysulfone (Formerly Quadrant ® PSU Polysulfone) is an amber semi-transparent, heat-resistant, high performance amorphous engineering thermoplastic. It offers excellent mechanical, electrical and improved chemical resistance properties relative to polycarbonate. Polysulfone’s properties remain relatively consistent over a broad temperature range, from –150°F (–100°C) to 300°F (150°C). Sultron™ PSU Polysulfone is hydrolysis resistant for continuous use in hot water and steam at temperatures up to 300°F. Sultron™ PSU Polysulfone offers high chemical resistance to acidic and salt solutions, and good resistance to detergents, hot water and steam. In addition, polysulfone has excellent radiation stability and offers low ionic impurity levels. Sultron™ PSU Polysulfone often replaces polycarbonate when higher temperatures, improved chemical resistance or autoclavability is required. Custom colors can be made to order. Sultron™ PSU Polysulfone is FDA, USDA, 3A-Dairy compliant and NSF compliant.

Note: Not all PSU shapes are certified to USP Class VI. If your application requires certification to USP Class-VI, it must be specified at the time of quotation and before order placement.  Some PSU grades are also offered in ISO 10993 compliant material, which must also be specified at the time of quotation and before order placement.

Boedeker Plastics, Inc. stocks & supplies plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and custom profiles and machine parts from these shapes that are produced from plastic resin. In many cases the manufacturer of the shape has their own product trade name. If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.
