Plastics and composites offer significant advantages in the most challenging construction and heavy equipment industry applications over traditional materials like metal & bronze. In many applications, they offer longer wear life, lower maintenance requirements and greater performance allowing equipment to run longer with less downtime. This is due to the combination of impressive properties, some of which include: light weight, high strength, self-lubricating, low friction, excellent wear resistance, chemical and corrosion resistance and others.
Plastics are commonly used to eliminate metal on metal contact in applications such as wear pads on telescopic booms, and bushings and bearings that reduce wear on the mating surface and allow for long wear life. In many sheave applications, materials like Nylon are used to greatly reduce weight over metal sheaves and extend wire rope cable life along with longer life in service. They are also used extensively in weight reduction applications to improve fuel efficiency.
Since 1984, we have worked closely with the construction and heavy equipment industry with Research and Development, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain personnel at the Equipment OEMs and in the field with Equipment Operators supplying our materials, parts and services. We have worked closely with small to large companies as they develop new products or have new application challenges, offering assistance with material selection by application, materials supply, prototyping and production supply.
Over the years, we have built a multimillion dollar inventory of high performance plastic and composite sheet, rod and tube and an ISO certified precision machine shop to support our clients with the most rigorous requirements. In addition, we offer injection molding for higher part volume requirements. All inventoried materials are available with cut to size and same day shipping service.
For clients that have ongoing part requirements, we offer just-in-time (JIT) delivery with our customer inventory services. We also specialize in technical services that include materials selection by application, improved part design assistance, onsite consultation and more.
