General Info
Torlon® 4203 PAI unfilled non-reinforced polyamide-imide offers excellent compressive strength and the highest elongation of the Torlon® grades.
It also provides electrical insulation and exceptional impact strength. This grade is commonly used for electrical connectors and insulators due to its high dielectric strength. Its ability to carry high loads over a broad temperature range from cryogenic to 500 F makes it ideal for structural components such as linkages and seal rings. Torlon® 4203 PAI is also an excellent choice for wear applications involving impact loading and abrasive wear. It is a perfect choice for many semiconductor applications requiring unique high-performance properties.

Key Properties
- Maintains strength and stiffness to 500°F (260°C)
- Minimal expansion rate to 500°F (260°C)
- Excellent wear resistance in bearing grades
- Able to endure harsh thermal, chemical and stress conditions
- Low Outgassing Material
- Total Mass Loss (TML%) 1.85%
- Collected Volatile Condensable Materials (CVCM%) 0.00%
- Water Vapor Regained (WVR%) 0.49%
Limitations
- Torlon® PAI has a relatively high moisture absorption rate, parts used in high temperatureservice or made to tight tolerances should be kept dry prior to installation. Thermal shock resulting indeformation can occur if moisture laden parts are rapidly exposed to temperatures above 400°F (205° C).
Applications
- Can Mandrels
- Semiconductor Parts (Burn In Test Sockets)
- High Temperature Electrical Components
- Insulators & Electrical Connectors
- Seal Rings
- Structural Parts
Resin Trade Names
Manufacturer Trade Names
Boedeker Plastics, Inc. stocks & supplies plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and custom profiles and machine parts from these shapes that are produced from plastic resin. In many cases the manufacturer of the shape has their own product trade name. If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.
