General Info

Nyatron GSVQ sheet is formulated per NAVY - MIL-DTL-32286 (3)

NAVY - MIL-DTL-32286 (3) -MATERIAL, BALL VALVE SEAT SEAL AND THRUST WASHER

Scope:

This specification covers material used for ball valve seat seals and thrust washers (nylon 66 with molybdenum disulfide) in petroleum- and polyalphaolefin (PAO)-based hydraulic fluid systems.

Intended Use:

This specification covers nylon 66 with molybdenum disulfide material for use as ball valve seats and thrust washers in petroleum-based hydraulic fluid systems. This specification is military-unique due to a lack of commercial specifications that have these requirements and its use on submarines and surface ships. This material is not recommended or intended for use in water. Use of this material in other fluids (such as synthetic hydraulic fluids or compressed gas) should be evaluated and approved by the system technical authority.

Available in 1.000" x 24.000" x 48.000" Sheet Only

Key Properties

  • Formulated for NAVY - MIL-DTL-32286 (3) for ball valve seats and thrust washers in petroleum-based hydraulic fluid systems.

Limitations

  • High Moisture Absorption
  • Limited Resistance to Strong Acids & Alkalies Note - Nylons can absorb up to 7% (by weight) water under high humidity or submerged in water. This can result in dimensional changes up to 2% and a corresponding reduction of physical properties. Proper design techniques can frequently compensate for this factor.

Applications

  • Valve Applications
  • Ball Valve Seat Seals
  • Thrust Washers

Resin Trade Names

Manufacturer Trade Names

  • Nylatron ® GSVQ

Boedeker Plastics, Inc. stocks & supplies plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and custom profiles and machine parts from these shapes that are produced from plastic resin. In many cases the manufacturer of the shape has their own product trade name. If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.
