General Info

SUSTADUR thermoplastic polyester products are semi-crystalline materials that offer good wear resistance along with a combination of excellent thermal stability and chemical resistance. SUSTADUR PET (polyethylene terephthalate) offers higher strength and stiffness over acetal, nylon and PBT. This product has outstanding dimensional stability by virtue of low moisture absorption and a low coefficient of thermal expansion.

Key Properties

  • Continuous Use Temperature Of 230/F
  • High Strength and Stiffness
  • Outstanding Dimensional Stability
  • Low Moisture Absorption

Limitations

  • Moderate Impact Strength (Not Recommended for High Impact)
  • Low Resistance to Continuous Hot Water or Steam
  • Low Resistance to Strong Alkalies

Applications

  • Bushings and Bearings
  • Manifolds
  • Food Processing Components
  • Pistons
  • Valves

Boedeker Plastics, Inc. stocks & supplies plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and custom profiles and machine parts from these shapes that are produced from plastic resin. In many cases the manufacturer of the shape has their own product trade name. If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.
