General Info
GEHR PVDF™ (Polyvinylidene Fluoride), also known by the brand name KYNAR, is a high-performance fluoropolymer thermoplastic renowned for its superior mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and thermal stability. Compared to related materials like PTFE, PVDF offers higher tensile strength, improved pressure resistance, and excellent dimensional stability, making it ideal for demanding industrial and engineering applications.
This natural-colored PVDF plastic rod provides outstanding toughness and durability even at lower temperatures, with an operating temperature range from -22 °F to +302 °F (-30 °C to 150 °C). It is self-extinguishing, offering enhanced safety in applications requiring flame retardance. GEHR PVDF™ exhibits exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals such as chlorine and bromine and withstands high-energy radiation, making it suitable for harsh environments.
Common applications for GEHR PVDF™ include chemical processing equipment, fluid handling systems, electrical insulation, filtration membranes, and components in the medical and semiconductor industries. The plastic rods are precision-machinable, available cut to size, and supported by Boedeker Plastics.
Note:
- NSF Certification: GEHR PVDF™ rod is certified to NSF Std 61. GEHR PVDF rod materials are listed to NSF Std 14 (physical properties/cell classification), NSF Std 51 (food zone), and NSF Std 61 (health effects testing for drinking water).
- Note: This does not certify a finished part made from this material for the NSF specification; that is the responsibility of the customer, who will work directly with NSF on certifying the part.

Resin Trade Names
Manufacturer Trade Names
Boedeker Plastics, Inc. stocks & supplies plastic sheet, rod, tube, film and custom profiles and machine parts from these shapes that are produced from plastic resin. In many cases the manufacturer of the shape has their own product trade name. If your specification calls for a specific resin grade or manufacturer trade name, we can supply a shape made from that resin to meet your specification or suggest an equal. If you require a specific resin or brand it must be specified at the time of order.
