General Info

Unfilled Polycarbonate is a tough, transparent engineering thermoplastic which offers very high impact strength and high modulus of elasticity. It also has a high heat deflection temperature and absorbs very little moisture. These properties, plus good low frequency and high voltage insulating characteristics, make polycarbonate a prime material for electrical and electronic components. Zelux® offers a high Dielectric Strength of 760 v/mil and an excellent flammability rating (UL Yellow Card file E240206).

Zelux® M provides outstanding dimensional stability due to Westlake's proprietary isotropic stress-relieving process, helping reduce headaches and extra machine time due to warping.

Zelux® M is easy to fabricate, paint, and glue. Its strength, impact resistance and transparency (Zelux W - Window Grade Only for transparency) also make it an ideal material for certain transparent structural applications.

Zelux^® M is machine-grade polycarbonate, while Zelux^® W is window-clear material for applications where transparency is an important consideration.
