GENERAL DESCRIPTION
TECAPEEK ® is a unique semi-crystalline, high temperature engineering thermoplastic based upon the PolyEtherEtherKetone (PEEK) or PolyArylEtherKetone (PAEK) polymers. It is an excellent material for a wide spectrum of applications where mechanical, thermal, and chemicaln properties are critical to performance.
Especially significant, in this regard, is TecaPEEK's ability to retain its flexural and tensile properties at very high temperatures in excess of 250°C (482°F). The addition of glass fiber (TECAPEEK GF30) or carbon fiber (TECAPEEK CF30) reinforcements enhances the mechanical and thermal properties of the basic TecaPEEK ® material. A self-lubricated grade, TECAPEEK PVX is also manufactured for low friction and increased wear resistance in bearing applications.
TecaPEEK ® is produced only by Ensinger Industries and is available in sheet/plate, solid round rod, and rigid tube forms for machining into parts.
TECAPEEK ® PVX
This bearing grade TecaPEEK ® includes low friction additives reducing the coefficient of friction and increasing wear resistance. TECAPEEK PVX is intended for bearing and wear applications of all kinds.
TECAPEEK PVX is an ultra high performance bearing material that incorporates the properties of a premium polymeric matrix material with optimum levels of specific wear enhancing additives. This formulation raises the continuous use temperature by approximately 40°F and increases the limiting PV value while maintaining excellent chemical resistance. When used as a nonmetallic bearing, TecaPEEK PVX offers a superb range of tribiological performance. It is designed to run at high loads and speeds, in hostile environments, either dry or lubricated.
TecaPEEK PVX is available in pre-molded sheet, solid round rod and thick-walled cylindrical tube shapes and is BLACK in color.
