GENERAL DESCRIPTION
TecaPEEK Classix unlike its predecessor, TecaPEEK MT, may be used in applications that require the material to be in contact with blood, bone and tissue as a temporary implantable product, not to exceed 30 days in use. This formulation has been tested and approved in accordance with biocompatibility testing USP Class VI and batch tested for cytotoxicity in accordance with ISO-10993.
It has high resistance to hydrolosis at elevated temperatures as well as excellent chemical resistance and the ability to perform after repeated sterilization cycles. Tecapeek Classix may be sterilized using many conventional methods including, hot air, steam, plasma, ethylene oxide and gamma radiation.
NOTE: TecaPEEK Classix is also available in an "XRO" (X-Ray Opaque) grade. Since plastics are typically transparent to X-Rays, the XRO formulation is filled with 20% radio opaque Barium Sulfate (BaSO4) to make the resulting material visible in x-ray and MRI images. This special grade is available upon request ... contact us for more information.
TECAPEEK Classix is available in pre-molded sheet and solid round rod shapes and is WHITE in color.
