DESCRIPTION PC-300 and PC-350 Static Dissipative Polycarbonates are premium quality clear polycarbonate sheets which have been surface coated with SciCron Technologies' STATICON® proprietary, clear, static dissipative surfacing. This unique technology imparts to the sheet surfaces superior resistance to charge generation and superior static decay performance. The result are sheet products which exhibit excellent control of both electrostatic discharge (ESD) and particulate attraction. These characteristics are permanent and totally independent of humidity.
STATIC DISSIPATIVE POLYCARBONATE GRADES PC-300 Polycarbonate
PC-300 is easily fabricated into flat surface configurations. It should not be used for heat-formed bent configurations. PC-300 is manufactured from premium quality transparent polycarbonate sheets which are optically distortion free and resistant to buildup of harmful contaminants. Consequently, it is widely used in clean rooms by the semiconductor, electronic, micro-manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and biomedical industries. Applications include; perimeter windows, transparent room partitions, light-weight floor-to-ceiling window walls, laminar-flow air containment screens, mini-environment glazing panels, pass-thru modules, equipment enclosures, and desiccator cabinets.
PC-350 Polycarbonate
PC-350 is designed to accommodate heat bending when heat temperatures are carefully controlled. Typical applications include transparent heat-formed covers, windows, doors and access panels for electronic equipment, machines and instruments, and formed enclosures including protection of static-sensitive devices and spark discharge control in explosive environments.
AVAILABILITY PC-300 and PC-350 are available in standard full-size sheets of 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch thicknesses by 4 ft. wide by 8 ft. length. Cut-to-size pieces are available. Metric sheet thicknesses are available by custom quote only (minimums may apply).
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Cannot be tribocharged when properly grounded - prevents static buildup Electrostatic decay in less than 0.05 second per Federal Test Standard 101C, Method 4046.1 (rapid dissipation without arcing) Ideal surface resistivity without need for ionizers or coatings Permanence in static dissipation performance without periodic re-coating Humidity-independent static charge control Advanced technology, uniform surface treatment avoids "hot spots" Superior fabrication characteristics offer simplified design and installation Inherently light-weight material with large sheet availability Superior chemical resistance with reduced risk of solvent attack
