GENERAL PROPERTIES
Turcite A & X Material (c) Boedeker Plastics 2001 Turcite ® is a self-lubricating thermoplastic bearing material manufactured by American Variseal Bearings (formerly Shamban Polymer Technologies) Group. These materials are cost effective, chemically resistant, wear resistant, and are well suited to a wide range of temperatures. Turcite ® A and Turcite ® X are acetal-based materials and their properties and applications can be compared to those of more well-known Delrin AF ®. Turcite ® materials are available in rod form only.

( see also HiMod Grade Specifications )

FEATURES
• Self-lubricating • Maintenance-free, long-wearing bearings • Low cost • High chemical resistance • Moisture resistant • Always oven annealed for stress-relief

EXAMPLE APPLICATIONS
• Bearings • Rollers • Bushings • Guides • Sleeves • Thrust washers • Valve seats • Gears • Liners • Wear surfaces • Seals • Insulators • Cams • Cam followers

TURCITE ® GRADES
Turcite ® A ( also known as Turcite ® TA )
Turcite ® A is suitable for moderate to heavy loads at moderate speeds. It performs well under vibratory and dynamic loading and is readily machinable. It is recommended for a maximum continuous service temperature of 180°F (80°C). Turcite ® A has higher wear resistance than Turcite ® X. It is BLUE in color.

Turcite ® TX ( also known as Turcite ® X )
Turcite ® X excels in low load and high speed applications, and can be easily machined. It has minimal hygroscopic characteristics and possesses low thermal expansion properties, resulting in a structurally stable material. Its maximum continuous service temperature is also 180°F (80°C). Turcite ® X has lower friction than Turcite ® A. It is RED in color.
