OVERVIEW
In 2010, Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products introduced a new family of engineering plastic materials, called Duratron®. Quadrant had previously marketed two polyimide products with the Duratron name, but they have expanded the product family to include other high-performance polymer materials. This was done to offer a unified approach to materials selection & specification, and also to distinguish these products from their respective resin manufacturers' tradenames.
As a leading Quadrant distributor, Boedeker Plastics sells all Quadrant's engineering materials in sheet, rod and tube forms ... and we also machine parts from those shapes to our customers specifications. As a service to our customers, we offer this cross-reference information and explanation of the new Duratron product family.
To summarize, Ultem® PEI products are designated "Duratron® U", Torlon® PAI products become "Duratron® T", and Celazole® PBI is named "Duratron® CU". Quadrant is also introducing new PolyImide products to the market as "Duratron® D" grades. NOTE: The older Duratron XP and Duratron 150 polyimide products have been discontinued from further production ... although limited inventories do remain available until sold off.
