GENERAL PROPERTIES
Duratron® U PolyEtherImide (PEI) is an amber transparent high performance polymer which combines high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures with long term heat resistance. Duratron® U PEI offers excellent dimensional stability combined with broad chemical resistance.
Duratron® U PEI is also inherently flame resistant and low smoke generating. It excels in medical reusable applications requiring repeated sterilization and is available in FDA compliant colors.
DURATRON® U PEI GRADES Duratron U1000 PEI (unfilled)
Unfilled Duratron® excels in hot air and water environments. It's hydrolytically stable -- it retains 85% of tensile strength after 10,000 hour boiling water immersion and 100% of tensile strength after 2,000 steam autoclave cycles at 270°F. It is also UV and gamma radiation resistant.
Duratron U2300 PEI (30% glass filled)
Glass reinforced Duratron® U PEI provides even greater rigidity and dimensional stability while maintaining many of the useful characteristics of basic unfilled Duratron U1000 PEI. The glass reinforcement yields a product with an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and increased tensile strength. This 30% glass-reinforced grade is the most common filled Duratron U PEI grade and is readily available from stock in sheet and rod forms.
Duratron U2100 PEI (10% glass filled) and
Duratron U2200 PEI (20% glass filled)
These less-common glass-reinforced grades are NOT AVAILABLE FROM STOCK, but rather can be offered ONLY BY SPECIAL ORDER ... long leadtimes and large minimum order quantities may apply when ordering these grades in sheet or rod forms.
