GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Duratron ® T PAI is the highest performing melt processable plastic. It has superior resistance to elevated temperatures. It is capable of performing under severe stress conditions at continuous temperatures to 500°F (260°C). Parts machined from Duratron ® T PAI stock shapes provide greater compressive strength and higher impact resistance than most advanced engineering plastics. Its extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion and high creep resistance deliver excellent dimensional stability over its entire use range. PAI is an amorphous material with a Tg (glass transition temperature) of 537°F (280°C).
Duratron T4435 PAI (Compression Molded)
Duratron ® T4435 PAI is specifically designed to provide exceptionally low wear performance in non-lubricated applications even at high pressure and velocity (PV) conditions. With a proprietary blend of carbon fiber, graphite, mica and PTFE fillers, T4435 offers the best possible advantages of lower friction and increased wear resistance as compared with other Duratron T PAI grades. Not only is Duratron T4435 PAI particularly suited to applications where lubrication is impossible or undesirable, it provides an additional margin of safety for lubricated systems in the event that lubrication is lost.
The impressive flexural and compressive stiffness from cryogenic to elevated temperatures allows it to be used for demanding load-bearing applications. The low coefficient of thermal expansion provides the ability to meet close tolerances over a wide temperature range. NOTE: Due to its electrically dissipative property, this grade may also be considered for anti-static functions.
Specific applications where Duratron T4435 PAI may be used are thrust washers, seal rings, sliding vanes, bobbins, bushings, clutch rollers and pistons.
NOTE: This less-common bearing grade is NOT AVAILABLE FROM STOCK, but rather can be offered ONLY BY SPECIAL ORDER ... long leadtimes and large minimum order quantities may apply when ordering these grades in sheet or rod forms.
