GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Duratron ® T PAI is the highest performing melt processable plastic. It has superior resistance to elevated temperatures. It is capable of performing under severe stress conditions at continuous temperatures to 500°F (260°C). Parts machined from Duratron ® T PAI stock shapes provide greater compressive strength and higher impact resistance than most advanced engineering plastics. Its extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion and high creep resistance deliver excellent dimensional stability over its entire use range. PAI is an amorphous material with a Tg (glass transition temperature) of 537°F (280°C).
Duratron T4275 PAI (Compression Molded)
Duratron ® T4275 compression molded PAI is a wear-resistant grade of polyamide-imide (PAI). With 20% graphite and 3% PTFE fillers, T4275 offers lower friction and increased wear resistance as compared with standard Duratron T4501 PAI (12% graphite, 3% PTFE). This grade offers an excellent balance of mechanical properties and wear resistance. It offers high tensile strength and modulus with a low coefficient of friction and outstanding wear resistance at both high velocity and high pressure conditions.
Potential applications for Duratron T4275 PAI include thrust washers, spline liners, valve seats, bushings, bearings, wear rings, cams and other applications requiring strength at high temperature and resistance to wear.
NOTE: This less-common bearing grade is NOT AVAILABLE FROM STOCK, but rather can be offered ONLY BY SPECIAL ORDER ... long leadtimes and large minimum order quantities may apply when ordering these grades in sheet or rod forms.
See also Duratron T4301 PAI, Duratron T4501 PAI and Duratron T4435 PAI bearing grades.
